Chapters
The sunset bleeds pink tonight,
soft light over everything we broke.
For a moment the sky pretends
nothing is ending.
I know how much we’ve hurt each other. You hurt me, and I hurt you back with my jealousy, my anger, and the fear of losing you. Now I see it clearly: everything I did to keep you close only pushed you further away.
The sun is setting and the sky is turning that quiet pink that feels like a goodbye. I can feel the end coming, and maybe you can too.
So tonight… let’s pretend everything is still okay. Let’s go back to when loving each other was easy.
The city shines beneath the pink sky,
so close I could almost call it home.
Maybe this is where I’m meant to be,
yet somehow, it keeps slipping through my hands.
I always believed
love would never find me.
When it finally did,
it arrived wrapped in flames.
It burned everything I tried to protect.
But before I leave this place,
before the last light disappears behind the skyline,
let’s forget the ashes for a while.
Let’s laugh the way we used to.
Let’s love the way we almost could.
And I’ll watch the sunset carry away
my last day here.
The sun falls lower,
painting the city in shades of pink and blue.
I used to believe every story
needed a hero and a villain.
Then I loved.
I was hurt.
And I hurt people too.
I cried for the damage I caused,
until I realized
that doesn’t make me evil—
it only makes me human.
In my story,
I’ll always know why I stayed.
In someone else’s,
I’ll always be the one who left.
Maybe that’s a truth
none of us can escape.
Some friendships were real.
Even if only for a season.
And like every sunset,
some beautiful things
were never meant to last.
The sunset feels warmer today.
I thought this chapter would break me,
but instead, it found me.
I was never alone.
Along the way,
I met people who became home,
who held me up
when I didn’t know I needed saving.
Now the sky is asking me to let go.
Goodbye, teacher.
Thank you for showing me who I could become.
Goodbye, children.
You taught me far more than I could ever teach you.
Goodbye, my partner.
Thank you for walking beside me.
And goodbye to this beautiful city,
the one that welcomed me
like I already belonged.
Maybe one day…
I’ll come back,
not as a visitor,
but as someone finally ready
to call it home.
The city dances beneath a pink sky,
and somehow… so do I.
I’ve learned what alcohol really does.
It doesn’t heal me.
It only teaches my heart
how to forget for a little while.
So I laugh.
I dance.
I let the music carry me
before the night finally arrives.
Tomorrow I’ll have to leave this city,
and with it, every unfinished conversation.
I don’t want apologies anymore.
I don’t want explanations.
That chapter is over.
Tonight, it’s just me—
and for the first time,
that’s enough.
The sun is almost gone.
I gave more than I knew how to keep.
Pieces of myself, sleepless nights,
moments that were meant to become memories,
only to end as someone else’s blame.
They said I was the villain.
I used to fear that word.
Now I understand
every story needs one.
They took something from me,
but not enough to stop me from moving on.
They still throw stones.
I still hear them.
The difference is…
they don’t hurt anymore.
It all began in the mountains.
There were four of us.
Then five.
Then six.
Our laughter echoed through the hills,
flower fields, tiny apartments,
and every city we called home,
even if only for a little while.
I thought those moments
would outlive us.
But nothing stays forever.
Flowers wither.
Seasons change.
And sometimes, people do too.
Six became five.
Five became four.
Four became three.
We shattered like glass,
too broken to fit together again.
I still wish I could live inside those memories…
but every sunset leaves them
a little darker than before.
From this balcony,
I watch strangers become lovers,
hands finding hands
like they were always meant to.
I wonder…
will that ever happen to me?
Maybe I’ll spend my whole life alone.
Maybe time is running out,
and the people who stay
are never the ones my heart chooses.
I think about the day I grow old,
the day I lose my strength,
the day I need someone beside me.
Who will be there?
This city was built for love,
yet all I can feel
is abandonment, rejection,
and the weight of every insecurity
I’ve carried for years.
I’m tired of waiting for fate
to write my story.
I know I have to take the first step.
I just don’t know where to begin.
So I stay here,
watching everyone build a life together…
while no one looks up
to see me on the balcony.
The darkness clouds my vision.
Nothing ended the way I dreamed it would.
The alcohol lies,
promising to silence the pain
while destroying what's left of me.
Maybe this was the final push.
Maybe I've held on for too long.
The city is fading beneath the night,
and the last traces of pink disappear
from the sky I once called beautiful.
Everything is ending.
And as the darkness takes the city,
I find myself standing
where the light used to be.
My suitcase is ready.
And God, I wish I didn’t have to leave.
There are too many memories in these walls, too many versions of myself in the places I’ve called home. So many battles I fought, so many adventures I’ll carry with me, so many things I never thought would teach me this much. But I can’t stay here forever.
A new future is waiting for me. And for the first time, the road ahead doesn’t look so blurry anymore. I know which way to walk, what I’m willing to fight for, and where my heart is trying to take me. I know it won’t be easy. But when has it ever been?
I began in an enchanted forest, surrounded by magic and creatures I thought could never exist. I found a cabin, a place to hide from the world, until little by little, I learned I couldn’t spend my whole life inside it. So I left.
I traveled toward the city of my dreams, believing that wanting something badly enough meant it would belong to me. But some dreams make you fight for the right to stay. And mine asked me to cross the sea, to get lost in the woods, to run from everything I thought I knew.
Then came the mountains. Hidden beyond them was the city I had always wanted to call home. But when I finally arrived, it wasn’t the place I had imagined. Maybe I had changed along the way. Maybe the dream was never going to look the way I pictured it. Still, something inside me knew my journey wasn’t over.
There were more battles to fight, more doors to open, more versions of myself waiting somewhere down the road. But not today. Today, I have to go back home. Not because I’ve given up on the future, but because sometimes you have to return to where you started to understand how far you’ve come.
My suitcase is ready. My heart isn’t. But life keeps changing every day, and maybe growing up means learning to leave even when every part of you wants to stay. So I’ll take one last look at everything I’ve been. I’ll close the door. And when the time comes, I’ll begin again.
The journey isn’t over. I’m just going home to find the strength to continue.
